Trusting God’s Track Record
Sometimes it is difficult to trust God because He isn't doing what you want Him to do. But just because God isn't doing what you want, it doesn't mean He isn't working. He has a plan for you! Audra Dahl addresses this point through Scripture and personal experience and a stubborn refusal to lose her faith by looking for objective evidence of God working in her life.
Through Christ
Audra Dahl teaches on what it means to do something "through Christ who strengthens me" from Phil. 4:13.
You are ENOUGH!
Audra Dahl challenges the core belief of "I'm not worthy." You are worthy only and simply because God says you are!
God is HOME!
Audra Dahl teaches on the vital step of drawing near to God, especially in times of trauma and stress, because He is the safe home.
Podcast
As a counselor, so many times, I have sat across from someone who was so nervous sitting on the couch. It’s scary to open up to someone you barely know, to not know what the path to healing looks or feels like, and to think and talk about the things you so desperately just want to go away. So, I tell people, “I get it. I’ve been on that side of the couch.” I want them to know I’ve been there too.
In addition to counseling, I am the Director of Rush Creek Counseling Center. I firmly believe I have the best team of counselors! I love my conversations with them about life, counseling, and faith. We learn so much from our constant studies for our profession, from our clients, and from the life that God leads us in. After one particular conversation, I thought, “Geez! This conversation is so great, and I think more people need to hear it!” Thus, the birth of this podcast. I’ve called it “This Side of the Couch” because it is for counselors who are sitting on “this side of the couch,” but it is also for the person who is sitting on “this side of the couch” with a counselor across from them. But even more so, it is for anyone who has curled up with a pillow and blanket on the couch and talked with a great friend.
